Weekly Writing Tips - Off-Beat Writing Tips! This week's writing tips are the tips you never thought you'd need. Sometimes thinking outside of the box pays off.
1. Read Bad Books - Read some popular but poorly written books to get a feel for what engages the reader. It's not always perfect punctuation or plot development!
2. Watch Some Deleted Scenes - Next time you're dusting off the DVD's, take a minute to check out some of the deleted scenes in the bonus features! You can often gain great insights as to why the director chose to scrap certain scenes while keeping the rest.
3. Find a Group of Other Writers - Sometimes even if you're not critiquing each others work, it can be extremely valuable to share the camaraderie of writing in a group. There are online writers groups too if you can't get together in person.
