Martin Luther King Jr was a baptist minister and a civil rights leader who dedicated his life to the fight against injustice and inequality. He believed in peaceful protest and civil disobedience as the only way to bring about social change and believed that one's worth lay not in their skin tone, beliefs, nor their background. Martin Luther King Jr’s message of peace and love in the face of hatred and misunderstanding not only inspired legislation like the Civil Rights and Voting Acts, but also showed the downtrodden of American society that hope and love can change their world for the better. His legacy of kindness and civility lives on today in the hearts and minds of millions who also wish for a gentler and more peaceful tomorrow.
