Our Classic Cut Murdy No. 2 Refillable Leather Journal is created for the writer, traveler, office, and everyone else. These beautiful and durable 5-6 oz. full-grain leather journals will serve you well for years to come. Laser engrave an inscription into the front cover or add a spine engraving.
Created around the ubiquitous little black notebook, our cover uses an innovative, in spine binding bar, to allow for any 8.25" by 5" notebook refill. Three stainless steel screws hold the insert firmly in place, but allow for replacement with only a Phillips screwdriver. Easily add any refill by following our simple instructions.
Each of our Murdy No. 2 designs will come with a ruled insert pre-installed, and the option to upgrade the insert to one of the many variations of the classic Moleskine brand books. Furthermore, each design comes with a stainless steel and gold trim Parker Jotter.

Our leather is 6–8 oz. full-grain cowhide, chrome and oil tanned in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Infused with a natural wax blend throughout the hide, it is waterproof, low in water absorption, and virtually maintenance-free. Liquids bead up and roll off rather than soaking in.
Our leather will naturally develop a rich patina over time through exposure to air, sunlight, natural oils, and everyday use. If needed, it can be cleaned with a soft, damp microfiber cloth, while saddle soap can be used to remove heavier dirt and help condition the leather. Thanks to the leather’s natural oils and waxes, most light surface scratches can simply be buffed out using the warmth of your finger.
As a natural material, each piece is one of a kind and may feature unique markings and characteristics.

Giving this three stars mainly because of the loop closure system. Leather quality is high and the embossing is well done. Unfortunately the loop system is clumsy and doesn’t fit a pen comfortably that’s much larger than a cheap BIC Ball pen. When no pen is used to keep the system closed the system still doesn’t work well because of the friction from the ends of the loop rubbing together. If it wasn’t embossed, I’d probably return it for the amount of money I spent.

Amazing quality. This is by far the best journal I’ve found in both form and function, quality and is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. I didn’t expect to receive a Parker with my order, so that was a pleasant surprise, and I love how the closure is kept by the pen. The only thing that I would have changed about the journal, is that the screws that hold in the paper refill our stainless Phillips head screws. I got the Americano colored journal so it would have been nice if those had been black hex screws or something more visually appealing. But again, that’s me just nitpicking at an incredible product. It clearly didn’t affect my rating! Thank you for this future heirloom!

Love it! You can tell immediately how well made it is. Two things. If you get Onyx black then dont worry about the inscription because you can barely see it. I would say just get one of the brown colors.
I also wish the journal itself was softer. I think thats the only thing missing. Kind of hard to write sometimes with how tough the journal cover is.
