Memoir — An American-Made Heirloom Click Pen

Memoir is an American-made metal click pen created for the ideas, signatures, serious writing, and quiet moments that deserve to be remembered. Precision machined in the United States, each pen is individually hand-fit and carefully finished, giving it the character and attention of an object made by people—not simply produced by machines.

With a 38 gram weight, its substantial presence is noticeable. The refined surfaces and precise movement create a writing instrument that feels substantial in the hand and deeply satisfying to use.

At the heart of the pen is our patent-pending ceramic ball-bearing click mechanism. Unlike conventional bolt-action or side-release systems that rely heavily on sliding metal surfaces, Memoir uses precision ceramic ball bearings traveling through a continuously machined cam track to extend and retract the writing tip in the satisfying way. The result is a classic click elevated by modern engineering: smooth, deliberate, and mechanically satisfying.

The internal mechanism is machined from 17-4 PH stainless steel and heat treated to the H900 condition, reaching approximately 42 HRC. This hardened construction helps resist deformation, denting, and long-term wear, allowing the mechanism to retain its precise feel through years of everyday use. Memoir is made to accompany you every day, gradually becoming smoother with use as the rollers continually polish the internal track.

Memoir is made to endure without demanding attention. Its mechanical construction is designed for minimal maintenance and can be disassembled for cleaning, inspection, and service. Rather than becoming disposable when time takes its toll, it can be cared for and returned to use.

The Memoir was built to work with your favorite pen refill. Compatible with the Pilot G2 refill and all ones similar in dimensions and size (including Sharpie Gel Ink, Zebra Sarasa Dry (included with pen purchase), Pemmeed, and others) as well as the Parker Jotter Refills (included with pen purchase) and its similar options via spacers. It can also work with a mechanical pen refill by utilizing two special spacers as well.

We offer Free Domestic Shipping to the lower 48 states via UPS Ground and to Alaska and Hawaii via USPS Priority Mail for packages over 1 lb. Shipping times may vary depending on distance and carrier workloads. No carrier offers any guaranteed delivery times since 2020. We do prioritize orders that are being shipped via 2Day or Next Day Air. If speed is critical we recommend those options be selected.

The Memoir weigh roughly 38 grams (with minor differences depending on insert).

The Memoir is built to not need much maintenance, however it is possible that occasionally taking it apart and using a Q-tip to wipe down the inside of the track and along the inside of the front and back barrel may help keep it in its best shape as dirt or dust can get into the internals. Lubrication is not necessary, but can make the clicker even smoother, but may increase how often it needs to be cleaned as that grease can trap dirt.

At this moment, we do not have engraving on the Memoir as an option. However, we are planning on adding engraving on the clip as an option in the future, and will sell just the clips as well so you can get your Memoir now and then later when we launch engraved clips can swap out your clip for an engraved one.
